October 2 - National Custodian Day
October 6 - Field Day / End of Quarter 1
October 9-13 - Fall Break; no school
October 20 - Report Card Day (no more paper copies sent home; Look in Skyward Family Access)
October 20 - Rain date for Field Day; Big Kahuna delivery, 4-6pm in cafeteria
October 23-27- Book Fair Week
October 24 - HERO Martial Arts here during specials
October 25 - Fall Family Night, 5:30-6:30 pm. Book Fair open until 6:30 pm
November 2 - 5th grade field trip
November 7 - Election Day; no school for students
November 9 - 5th grade parent meeting, 5 PM cafeteria (no students, please)

1. Our annual
Fall Family night is Wednesday, October25 from 5:30 - 6:30 pm. There will be math and literacy games set up around the building. Prizes for participation! Students may wear their Halloween costumes for this event. Book Fair open late! Hope to see you there!

3. PTO NEWS
The PTO voted to have evening meetings EVERY OTHERMONTH this year so that YOU can join them. The evening meetings are in the cafeteria. We hope to have a large group of parents and cannot wait to see you!

*WE WOULD LIKE TO THANK THE FOLLOWING COMMUNITY BUSINESS PARTNERS FOR THEIR INVOLVEMENT INOUR FIELD DAY- SCHULTZ PTO, KOHS SOFTBALL TEAM, HERO MARTIAL ARTS, & KLEIN LACROSSE.
*FOR FIELD DAY - PLEASE HAVE YOUR STUDENT BRING A WATER BOTTLE LABELED WITH THEIR NAME.
*THIS MONTH - WE WILL BEGIN OUR FOOTBALL UNIT. WE WILL ALSO HAVE HERO MARTIAL ARTS JOIN US DURING SPECIALS ON TUES., OCT. 24TH.
*PLEASE MAKE SURE YOUR STUDENT WEARS TENNIS SHOES TO PE. CROCKS, HIGH HEELS, AND BOOTS ARE NOT SAFE.

MUSIC UPDATES
This month students will continue reading rhythms, Reading solfege, and begin learning to identify notes and note values.

ART UPDATES
Students are busy learning about how to mix paint colors. Towards the end of the month, they will start projects for Rodeo Art.
