Gather Around the Table

Klein ISD is inviting our community to come to the table to help us envision the profile of a learner in Klein
ISD. We want to start this conversation about what qualities a student should possess when they graduate
from our district with the student voice, and we'd love your help!

Here's what we'd like you to do: Gather around the table and ask your kids the question, "What should you
know and be able to do when you graduate from high school?" Next, visit the website and let us know what our kids in Klein said. It's that simple.

Use the link below to sign your student up to present your culture/heritage for Friendship Friday. Students
may dress up and bring visual aids to help with their short (2-3 minute) presentation. This is a project that
will completed at home, so please write down the date that you choose and plan accordingly. We are
looking forward to learning more about our students through this celebration of our diversity!

Effective, August 22, 2016, the new Texas law changes the school year from 180 days to 75, 600 minutes.

Students are not permitted in the building prior to 7:50 a.m. unless they are eating breakfast or participating in a before
school activity, such as choir, drums, orffestra, or jogging club. In these situations, students will wait on the front porch
until the club sponsor escorts them in the building. Thank you for your cooperation.

7:30 a.m. - Students buying breakfast are permitted to enter the building and will go to the cafeteria.
7:50 a.m. - Students enter the building and report to homerooms.
8:05 a.m. - Morning announcements begin
8:15 a.m. - Tardy bell rings: instructional day begins
3:20 p.m. - Instructional day ends; dismissal begins

**Parents, we need your help getting your child to school on time each day. Students not seated in their classroom seat at
8:15 a.m. will be counted tardy.

**We are unable to accommodate early dismissals after 2:50 p.m. Thank you for your understanding.

Klein ISD is dedicated to academic achievement and success for all students.  Regular school attendance is
essential for success in school and in life.  Students who are absent from school miss out on learning. Students
who are tardy or absent from school miss out on learning. Families play a key role in making sure students get
to school safely and arrive on time every day. Having good attendance will benefit your child, so remember
Attendance Counts, Every day….Everyone!

The following policy is in effect for Schultz Elementary:

Each campus in the Klein ISD is to have a tardy policy in place. The following policy is in effect for

 5) Sometimes, parents are late picking up their child.  If this happens, students will remain inside and will sit
